Terms of Service
The short version: use it for real work, do not script it or resell the data, and treat search metrics as the estimates they are. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the law where you live.

This agreement
These terms are between you and RankQueries, which operates RankQueries. By using the site, the free tools or the application, you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to do that.
What the service is
RankQueries provides keyword research, competitor analysis, SERP inspection and keyword gap analysis, built on data licensed from a third party search data provider. Some of it is open to anyone at /tools. The rest requires an account.
Accounts
You need to give a working email address, keep your password to yourself, and be responsible for what happens under your account. One account is for one person. If you think somebody else has access to it, tell us.
There is currently no password reset. We would rather say so plainly than let you find out at the worst moment. If you lose your password you will need to contact us, and until self service reset exists we may not be able to restore access. Signing in with Google avoids the problem entirely.
The free tools
The public tools allow 3 searches per day per visitor, across all of them together, and the limit resets daily. It exists because every search costs us money at our data provider.
You may use the results in your own work, including commercially. You may not script the tools, rotate addresses to get around the limit, or run them through a proxy pool. Doing that is what turns a free tool into one that has to be taken away from everybody.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Resell, redistribute or republish the underlying data as a competing dataset or API.
- Access the service by automated means except where we have agreed to it in writing.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication or any other restriction.
- Probe or disrupt the service, or use it to break the law or infringe the rights of others.
Using the results to write, plan and publish your own content is exactly what the product is for. The line is between using the data and rebuilding a copy of the source.
Plans and payment
RankQueries is currently free to use while it is being built out. Paid plans are announced on the site but are not yet purchasable, and no payment details are collected anywhere in the product today.
When paid plans open we will publish the prices, what each plan includes and the refund and cancellation terms before taking any payment. Nothing in these terms authorises a charge you have not agreed to.
What the numbers are, and are not
This matters more here than in most terms, so it is stated plainly rather than buried.
- Search volume and cost per click are estimates originating from Google Ads. Volume is a rounded monthly average over the previous twelve months, not a live count.
- Keyword difficulty is a score calculated by our data provider. Google does not publish a difficulty metric, so no tool has the real one.
- Ranking positions reflect a specific location, language and device at a specific moment. Google personalizes results, so what you see yourself may differ.
- Where a figure is unknown the product shows it as missing rather than as zero, because those are different facts.
Treat all of it as evidence for a decision, not as a guarantee of an outcome. We do not promise any particular ranking, traffic or revenue result.
Availability and changes
We will try to keep the service running and will give reasonable notice of material changes, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may change or be withdrawn, and the free allowance may be adjusted if the cost of providing it makes that necessary.
Ownership
The site, the application and its design remain ours. The keywords and domains you enter remain yours, and we claim no rights over the work you produce using the results.
Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, particularly clause 5, and will explain why unless we are prevented from doing so.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law requires and does not allow us to exclude. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
